Every time payday hits I get the uncontrollable urge to buy new make up. I know, I know, shock horror, whoever would have though girls like makeup?! So earlier last week I
found myself scouting my local Mac counter for a new lipstick to wear out for a friends birthday at the weekend. Eventually after a lot of deliberation, I came away with not one but three... oops. The beauties that came home with were Patisserie, Plumful and Show Orchid.
Patisserie - Lustre Lipstick
This has very quickly become my favourite nude lipstick. It's a soft rosy-brown shade, that to me is the perfect "my lips but better" lipstick. The hit or miss aspect to this colour is the hidden glitter aspect. Well I say glitter it's more of a golden shimmer, not noticeable on application but once the colour has faded you get the remnants of glitter on your lips. Something that I don't mind as I tend to retouch the colour before it ever reaches this stage but definitely something to bare in mind if you're thinking of purchasing.
Plumful - Lustre Lipstick
So of the 3 Plumful is probably my favourite. Its a sort of berry pink and makes my lips look just amazing, if I do say so myself. It's wear time is about 3-4 hours but it fades extremely evenly so you barely notice it going. Being a lustre lipstick it's slightly on the sheerer side but is easily buildable without looking overly heavy. I have been wearing this religiously since bringing it home.
Show Orchid - Amplified Creme Lipstick
Wow, just, wow. Show Orchid is a vivid fuchsia pink with an iridescent near purple sheen. Being an Amplified colour it has a full colour finish as it's just so pigmented. I'm not complaining, I love the fact that it's one sweep and your done. Its such a bold colour, which is a little outside my comfort zone but that was my aim when I popped into mac, I wanted something a little different and for me this is very different. It's really creamy on the lips and isn't remotely drying. It wears down fairly evenly and leaves a lovely pink stain.

Overall I am so happy with all three of these, not a complaint on any of them. Which is very much a variety with me and lipsticks. What's your current favourite summertime Mac shade?
